Helping Dallas residents come together as a community to improve the appearance and livability of their neighborhoods.
The purpose of Pride in Your Neighborhood is to protect the vitality and integrity of Dallas neighborhoods. This is a grass-roots initiative created by the City of Dallas and its partners to help revitalize older neighborhoods by helping residents to combat deterioration, litter, and graffiti.
Working together with residents, we believe we can create healthy communities through proactive actions and, fair, and reasonable enforcement of City codes and ordinances. The objective is to provide support and resources to residents who want to change the appearance of their neighborhoods. Together we will implement enhancement strategies to help realize a shared community vision.
The following neighborhoods were selected as the first Pride in Your Neighborhood areas:
Arcadia Park
Arlington Park
Beverly Hills
Cedar Oaks
Dixon Circle
Fordham Road
Singing Hills/Glendale Park

Community involvement is fundamental to the success of Pride in Your Neighborhood. If you live or work in one of these communities we need your help and commitment. Residents, neighborhood associations, schools, businesses and key stakeholders can help us implement Pride in Your Neighborhood in their respective neighborhoods. And it’s easy. The City’s partner Keep Dallas Beautiful will host activities including neighborhood meetings, community surveys, leadership workshops and develop neighborhood action plans to address challenges. Another goal will be to develop home improvement incentive programs.
Elements of Pride in Your Neighborhood
Integrity
Neighborhood integrity strategies are designed to help maintain property values and neighborhood desirability by encouraging reinvestment. Residents are encouraged to work together to keep their Dallas neighborhood an attractive, healthy, and safe place to live and work.
Enhancement
Neighborhood enhancement strategies are designed to encourage residents to improve their homes and their neighborhood. Residents learn to address specific challenges and take advantage of the unique opportunities of their individual neighborhoods.
Relations
Neighborhood relations strategies are a crucial ingredient in a healthy neighborhood, and are only successful when residents work together to resolve problems; take action to reinforce positive standards; and maintain effective partnerships with city leadership to develop policies that foster vital neighborhoods.
Through our shared commitment with you we will build cooperation, instill pride, and empower Dallas’ aging communities. As Pride in Your Neighborhood participants, you will have the chance to work with other like-minded neighbors to improve the quality of life in your neighborhood and to encourage responsible stewardship of the urban environment.
